What makes us food lovers surprised every time we visit Ichiran ramen shop is that they always face the customers with sincerity from the start to end. In this ramen shop, you don't usually see the staffs who are actually working behind the partition (so you basically don't see each other). Why? Because Ichiran wants to serve their exceptional ramen to everyone from the ramen lovers like us, to the parents who have kids, to the ladies who forgot to do makeups, or even to the celebrities without fancy clothes who don't want people to see them in the public. So for those who want to enjoy the meal together with your families and friends chatting and laughing, the place may not be a perfect cozy place to visit, though what Ichiran really wants to deliver to you is the environment where you could really focus on the taste of its splendid pork bone based ramen with perfect al dente noodles without any interferences. You are about to face a bowl of ramen and would use all of your five senses to feel something from it. That is the kind of experience you would go through in Ichiran as if you are in a Zen temple all by yourself sitting there with your eyes closed facing yourself in your sole mind. A simple bowl of ramen, but there is a deepness inside where we also have not reached yet. Ichiran is the kind of ramen shop where you could really face "a bowl" only to appreciate its super tasty ramen that makes everyone "wow".

There is Ichiran Ramen Shop Chuo Higashi in Shinjuku as well.  May be crowded a bit but definitely worth waiting!
