One of the well known Tempura restaurants in Asakusa, famous more for Tendon (Tempura rice bowl) than tempura. Established in 1887, having a history of more than 125 years, it has evolved to an original style of tendon. In many of the restaurants, the color of tempura is kept to a mild brown, but here, having dipped longer in a dark sauce, it is almost black in color. The volume of the topping here is also probably the biggest around Asakusa, and the price is kept low: Tendon for only 1,500yen and Ebi-tendon (Prawn) is for 1,900yen.
English menu is available.
