Causeway Bay or East Point is one of Hong Kong's major shopping districts. It includes the 13-storey Japanese department store Sogo and Times Square, an indoor shopping complex. There are also smaller malls such as World Trade Centre, Windsor House, Hang Lung Centre, Fashion Island, Fashion Walk, Lee Gardens and Lee Gardens Two. Causeway Bay is one of the most crowded areas in Hong Kong since it contains many trendy shops carrying both locally made fashion and products from Japan, Europe and the United States. As such, it is a popular social spot for young people. Many shops are open until well after midnight.

In this page, Picrumb introduces the best local Chinese restaurants near Causeway Bay Station.

Se Wong Yee 蛇王二(燒臘飯店)
Se Wong Yee 蛇王二(燒臘飯店)

If you want to experience something very local, try the snake soup. It does not taste as awful as it sounds especially for tourists. Besides, the smell of the snake has been removed and the meat has a very chewy texture which we loved it very much. The restaurant is very popular for the locals and it may be crowded depending on the time, but it is definitely worth trying since you are in Causeway Bay.

The Dining Room 南小館
The Dining Room 南小館

The Dining Room serves the exceptional Shanghai dishes that takes your breath away although it looks more Western than Chinese from outside. The tasty Siumai (the glutinous rice dumplings), Xiaolongbao which had a very juicy meat inside with a thin layer, and the fried pork bun which also had a juicy meat inside were just splendid which caught us in a situation to decide on whether we should do the second ones. It is undisputedly a modern Shanghai cuisine that you cannot miss out on when you are in Causeway Bay.

Wing Kee Noodle 榮記粉麵
Wing Kee Noodle 榮記粉麵

Wing Kee Noodle has been widely accepted as one of the best spots for the bowl of noodles in Causeway Bay and it is super satisfying, and very affordable. The noodles are cooked just right, very springy with al dente which is exactly the way we like our noodles to be. When you stop by near Causeway Bay, make sure to meal here if you felt like having noodles.  You would have to wait for few minutes for the line but it is definitely worth to wait.

炊豕店
炊豕店

If you are on a budget trip and do not have an idea where to eat near Causeway Bay, try this restaurant.  This is one retro restaurant where they serve authentic Taiwanese dishes focusing on pork.  The good choice in this restaurant must be the pork chop with rice 43HK which is very reasonable for such high quality.  The pork is crispy outside while the meat inside is very tender. We would go back again just for their pork chop.

Yu 渝酸辣粉
Yu 渝酸辣粉

Si chuan food is known for its extremely spicy food.  In this restaurant you can make it less spicy and have some authentic Si Chuan food.  Our recommendation here is Dan Dan noodles. The noodle is very chewy and the soup is still spicy enough but that is what we like about it especially on hot and humid days. When you feel like having spicy food, Yu is definitely a good choice.
